COVID-19: Vivekananda Kendra distributes kits among saviours | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 9: Local branch of Vivekananda Kendra Kanaya Kumari, a spiritually oriented service mission, on Saturday paid tributes to the 65 COVID-19 saviours of the municipal corporation and distributed kits among them. Shiva Sikarwar, Pooran Kalin of Vivekananda Kendra said that the Vivekananda Kendra workers of Jammu branch on Saturday organised two camps at Vikas Lane Ward No 30 and near Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar ward No 31 and honoured 65 sanitation workers. He said that the Kendra workers gathered near Vikas lane Ward No 30 and saluted the sanitation workers of Jammu Municipal Corporation. Later, another camp was organised at Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar and the sanitation workers were paid tributes for their contribution during the COVID 19 crisis. Biscuits, masks, fruit juice and fruits were distributed among the COVID 19 saviours. He said that a Kendra activist Raminder Sanhotra was coordinator of the program. Gian Chand Sanotra, a senior social activist, lauded the role of Vivekendra Kendra to appreciate the contribution of the COVID 19 saviours. He said that this act of Kendra has boosted further the moral of the sanitation workers who work day and night for the nation under the present situation. Sikarwar said that the love for the COVID 19 saviours left both Kendra workers and Sanitation emotional during the program today. He said that flowers were showered on the wa as a mark of respect for their contribution to the society and the nation in both the camps. Shiva told the saviours that Swami Vivekananda had said , “they alone live who live for others the rest are more dead than alive” and they were living apostles of service and sacrifice of the present times.
