JAMMU, May 9: Despite all odds medicos ,paramedics and other health workers are at the front line of the COVID-19 outbreak response and as such are exposed to hazards that put them at risk of infection. Hazards include pathogen exposure, long working hours, psychological distress, fatigue, occupational burnout, stigma, and physical and psychological violence. The healthworkers however, perform their duties with dedication during the prevailing situation all over the country as well in the union teritory of Jammu and Kashmir. "We have been working exclusively in COVID- 19 ward here and after our duty we go in isolation rooms and keep ourselves in quarantine" said a health worker Ravel Joseph of Govt Medical College and Hospital Bakshi Nagar while talking to EarlyTimes today, "and during this period we remain away from our families",Ravel further added. It is pertinent to mention here that Govt has already released many sops for the frontline warriors of COVID- 19 pandemic who despite of all odds are all set to serve the humanity in these testing times. |
