RAJOURI, May 18: District Level Centre for Women (DLCW) has taken an initiative to distribute sanitary pads, antiseptic soaps and other hygienic products among girls and women in District Rajouri on the directions of District Development Commissioner, Mohd Nazir Sheikh and under the supervision of DSEO and Nodal officer of MSK Rajouri, Bilal Rashid Mir. Anum Mirza, Women Welfare Officer, Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt. of India along with her team that included District Coordinators, Sanjana Thakur and Nazma Sheikh has been at the forefront as corona warriors since lockdown and provided women in the far-flung rural areas with free sanitary napkins and other hygenic products even during Covid-19 crisis. While distributing these sanitary products to women, Anum Mirza said that women in rural areas have struggled to gain access to the basic menstrual hygienic products may be due to unavailability in these times or due to unaffordability. Besides this distribution, DLCW team also imparted awareness to girls and women related to menstrual hygiene and about the reproductive tract infections during menstruation times. |
