Vision Kashmir holds protest, demands enhanced cash assistance

JAMMU, June 9: Members of Vision Kashmir held a protest demonstration today to highlight their plight. Demonstration was held by displaying placards and observing strict social distancing.
While highlighting their issues, member of Vision Kashmir expressed serious concern about the financial crisis of relief holders arisen due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and subsequent lockdown.
Protesters during the protest demonstration said that due to complete lockdown since 23rd March thousands of relief holders, who were already living a life of depravity, their financial worries added more miseries to thorn, but it seems the government is adopting delaying tactics to resolve their issues despite emergence of the grave situation.
The members of the organization further said that they have come across many stumbling blocks since 1990 to keep ourselves alive by facing a lot of embracement and humiliation at the hands of authorities who are at the helm of affairs, but they continue to struggle for basic amenities for their sustenance.
In an appeal to Lt Governor and Secretary Relief, Revenue and Reconstruction, the members of vision Kashmir urged them to look into their demands viz-a viz enhancement in monthly cash assistance, soft loans for self-employment and inclusion of relief holders in Ayushumam Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna.
