Ajay Bharti assassination questions concept of Kashmiriyat

Early Times Report

Jammu , June 9: Cremation of Kashmiri Pandit Martyr Ajay Pandita (Bharti) has taken place at Shaktinagar cremation ground in Jammu today.Terrorists belonging “masked outfit” of The Resistance Front (TRF) of LeT, JeM, Hizb, ISJK, killed this minority Kashmiri Pandit living without any security among Kashmiri muslim population for past 15 years in Lukhbhawan. TRF has hit a soft target. They killed an unarmed and unprotected minority KP.
Bharti dared to go back to Kashmir and settle in his hamlet by constructing a house in his apple orchard in Anantnag district’s Lukhbhawan hamlet several years ago. Without looking towards return package and idea of proposed township for return and rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits, Bharti choose his own village to live, there, in composite population than in the idea of living in majority KP township in valley. He rejected township living. Not only he returned to his roots, but, he as a man of minority Kashmiri Pandit community dared to contribute to the strengthening of democratic and political setup in Kashmir. It is lesson for all those, who have been castigating and delivering sermons to minority Kashmiri Pandits for their responsibility with regard to strengthening footholds of Community in valley and contributing to democracy in highly terror ridden radicalized social setup of Kashmir. He is one among hundreds of KPs, who are in valley as Indians human resource contributing to education to economy and political setup too. Today, he is a braveheart martyr, who overruled the suggestions and apprehension of threat perception and security aspects by every KP close to him, and went back and settled in his village with non-Hindu population. He set an example for GoI. Today is death of that example he has set.
There are moot questions that need to answered keeping in view the policy of survival of displaced KPs is concerned.
1) Those, who have been inviting KPs should return back and settle in their hamlets not in separate proposed township, should answer now. Could the non-Hindu population of hamlet been able to protect “one single young KP” forget about protecting 5 lakh population in different hamlets. There is a question to all those KP advocates, who were opposing secured one place settlement and did marketing for high financial projects of Track-2 and Track-3 of return of KPs to valley’s composite hamlets under banner of Kashmiriyat not as an experiment for their own families to settle in their hamlets, but to create an influence community to become sitting ducks in hamlets across valley for target practice like Ajay Ji.
2) There has been no change in the policy of the government since decades. Saving the true Indians and strengthening them, whether Muslims, Hindus or Sikhs, has not been subjected to change even in this setup too. We have examples of using Ikhwan. The pride muslims, who reversed the course of gun and brought peace and normalcy on the security landscape of Kashmir, were allowed to wiped out by terrorists, separatists and their huge overground and underground supporters. The SoG and STF, which ensured the wiping out of terrorist network and brought normalcy, were dismentalled and those bravehearts were sidelined and isolated in good posting and some of them had to suffer too.
Both the setups -Ikhwan and SoG/STF along with army brought virtually zero terrorism syndrome that facilitated election paving way for Dr Farooq Abdullah to installed as Chief Minister in 1996. Mainstream political establishments dismentalled these security setups by fooling New Delhi in planned way. The terrorism had not gone fully off, Pakistan had not stopped training terrorists and sending them here, then why GoI facilitated dissolving of this security architecture and allowed true Indians to get killed by terrorists, because of, the weakening their security. Most of Pro-Indian Ikhwan leadership was allowed to get killed. Today, another true Indian was cremated. But the question will continue to haunts Indians in Jammu and Kashmir, when will GoI change its policy to save true Indians whether a Muslim, Sikh or Hindu in Kashmir.
