6/13/2020 9:18:56 PM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, June 13: United Democratic Alliance (UDA) strongly objected over the installation of forthcoming toll plazas in the Jammu region, seeking its immediate removal.
In this connection, a meeting was called at United Democratic Alliance (UDA) office here today under the leadership of its convenor Munish Sahni.
In the meeting, Rajiv Mahajan, Spokesperson UDA lambasted the J&K BJP leadership for adopting step-motherly attitude towards the people of Jammu. He asserted that during the establishment of plaza toll at Sarore in Samba district, J&K BJP leaders had assured for removal of the same but nothing has been done.
“At that time, Ravinder Raina, J&K BJP President had taken up the matter with the Union Transport Minister, Nitin Gadkari about establishment of toll plazas in Sarore but all in vain,” Mahajan said.
Mahajan said that with the establishment of Toll Plazas at Lakhanpur and Akhnoor BJP itself has betrayed the mandate of Jammu region. He said earlier the BJP former Minister had dismantled the toll plaza at Sarore on May 6, 2014, terming it was injustice with the people of Jammu but now how they will justify the people of Jammu region.
UDA demanded immediate rollback of decision of establishment of forthcoming toll plazas at Lakhanpur and Akhnoor failing which the party has to face the wrath of people of Jammu region. Others who were present in the meeting include Retd IGP Sudhir Dogra General Secretary, Co-Convenors Col. S S Pathania, Krishan Manhas, Rajesh Kesari, Pritam Sharma, Vikrant Kapoor and Satish Poonchi.
