JAMMU, June 21: In keeping with this year’s theme ‘Yoga@Home and Yoga with family’ due to the outbreak of COVID-19, senior BJP leader and Ex-Deputy CM Kavinder Gupta today led the celebrations of International Day of Yoga at home as per the Common Yoga Protocol issued by Union Ministry of AYUSH. He practiced yoga along with the people, who had come to his residence here, by maintaining social distancing in view of the challenging situation caused by coronavirus. On the occasion, Gupta called upon the people of J&K to practice yoga daily to lead a healthy and stress-free life. “By practicing yoga daily for a few minutes, people can stay fit and lead a disease- free life,” he asserted. He said people across the world had adopted yoga and benefitted immensely from it. Gupta also remembered Jan Sangh founder Dr Shyama Prasad Mookherjee on his 67th Balidan Divas, which falls on June 23, and paid him glowing tributes along with others who were with him. He termed Mukherjee a devout patriot, reformer and proud nationalist who had devoted his life for India’s unity and integrity. Gupta said Dr. Shyama Prasad, a true servant of humanity, believed that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India. At the time of independence, there was a separate constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, due to which it was isolated from India. Gupta continued on saying that Balidan Diwas should pay soulful tribute across the nation especially in all parts of J&K to acknowledge the sacrifice of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee. He said we the residents of J&K are indebted to his sacrifice. |
