SRINAGAR, June 21: The death toll due to the Corona Virus in Jammu & Kashmir reached 83 as two more COVID-19 patients died today. In the meantime, 122 fresh cases of Corona Virus were reported following which the number of COVID-19 patients in the union territory reached 5,956. Reports said that two Corona Virus patients died in Rafiabad-Baramulla and Kulgam districts respectively. Meanwhile, 122 fresh cases of the virus were reported from Jammu & Kashmir today. The positive cases reached 5,956 with active positive cases being 2,491. So far 3,382 Corona Virus patients have recovered. Reports said that Srinagar reported 32 fresh cases followed by Baramulla 17 cases, Anantnag and Budgam 15 cases each, Bandipora 10 cases, Rajouri eight cases, Kulgam six cases, Kupwara and Kathua five cases each, Udhampur three cases, Poonch two cases and Pulwama, Ganderbal, Ramban and Kishtwar one case each. The Jammu & Kashmir government informed through the media bulletin that 122 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 20 from Jammu division and 102 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 5,956. Moreover, 46 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 38 from Jammu Division and eight from Kashmir Division. Out of 5,956 positive cases, 2,492 are active positive, 3,381 have recovered and 83 have died; 10 in Jammu division and 73 in Kashmir division. The bulletin said that out of 3, 07,638 test results available, 3, 01,682 samples have tested negative till date. Additionally, till date 2, 53,942 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which included 38,829 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 30 in hospital quarantine, 2,492 in hospital isolation and 46,651 under home surveillance. Besides, 1, 65,858 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Kulgam has 681 positive cases, 198 active positive, 473 recovered, 10 deaths; Srinagar has 673 positive cases, 428 active positive, 226 recovered, 19 deaths; Shopian has 614 positive cases, 184 active positive, 420 recovered, 10 deaths; Anantnag district has 606 positive cases, 175 active positive, 426 recovered, five deaths; Baramulla has 599 positive cases, 318 active positive, 267 recovered, 14 deaths. “Kupwara has 440 positive cases, 118 active positive, 317 recovered, five deaths; Budgam has 326 positive cases, 191 active positive, 129 recovered, six deaths; Pulwama reported 313 positive cases, 240 active positive, 70 recovered, three deaths; Bandipora has 270 positive cases, 51 active positive, 218 recovered, one death and Ganderbal has 68 positive cases, nine active positive, 59 recoveries,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 309 positive cases, 109 active positive, 193 recovered, seven deaths; Udhampur has 212 positive cases, 94 active positive, 117 recovered, one death; Ramban has 208 positive cases, 74 active positive, 134 recoveries; Kathua has 194 positive cases, 88 active positive, 106 recovered; Samba has 127 positive cases, 77 active positive, 50 recovered; “Poonch has 110 positive cases, 42 active positive, 68 recovered; Rajouri has 82 positive cases, 46 active positive, 35 recovered, one death; Doda has 67 positive cases, 25 active positive, 41 recovered, one death; Reasi has 32 positive cases, nine active positive, 23 recovered; Kishtwar has 25 positive cases, 15 active positive, 10 recovered,” reads the bulletin. Out of 5,956 positive cases in J&K, 2,027 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 metres from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
