People demands uninterrupted power supply
6/22/2020 10:18:16 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 22: The residents of Bhour Chatha, Govind Pura, Karan Bagh, Gadi-Garh have appealed to the Power department to provide uninterrupted power supply to the areas and stop unscheduled curtailments.
According to representation made by the people of the area, it has been explained that for the past 25 days the summer is at the peak but people have to face power failure and prolonged power cuts for more than 3-4 hrs continuously and interrupted supply from power stations at Chatha.
“It came to notice that the power station at Chatha is overloaded and is unable to cater the peak load resulting in frequent power cuts and failure. The power station at Chatha needs modification and commissioning of an additional transformer to cope up the load for an uninterrupted power supply to the end user”, the representation reads.
The people appealed that for temporary relief to the masses, some load from the power station at Chatha might be shifted to the power station at Hakkal which was under loaded and could bear the extra load.
Pertinent to mention here that the AE, EM & RE sub-division Miran Sahib has already been approached by the Counsellor ward -73 Prof. Youdhvir Singh, while Lt Governor office has also been approached but to no avail.
“After the residents didn’t get any assurance or relief in power outages, they had to stage a protest demonstration on 21st of June, which was lifted on the assurance”, they said, adding that in view of the problems being faced by masses, the required steps must be taken.
