SRINAGAR, June 22: As two more Corona Virus patients died in the Kashmir valley today the death toll due to the virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 85. In the meantime, 132 fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported today. Reports said that a COVID-19 patient each died in the Kakapora-Pulwama and Kokernag-Anantnag areas today. Meanwhile, 132 fresh cases of Corona Virus were reported from Jammu & Kashmir today. With today’s fresh cases the number of positive cases of COVID-19 reached 6,088 in the union territory. Reports said that Srinagar and Shopian districts reported 22 cases each followed by Budgam 20 cases, Baramulla 18 cases, Kupwara 13 cases, Kulgam 12 cases, Pulwama 10 cases, Poonch five cases, Bandipora three cases, Anantnag and Kathua two cases each and Jammu, Rajouri & Doda one case each. The Jammu & Kashmir government through the media bulletin informed that 132 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 10 from Jammu division and 122 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 6,088. Moreover, 149 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 45 from Jammu Division and 104 from Kashmir Division. Out of 6,088 positive cases, 2,472 are active positive, 3,531 have recovered and 85 have died; 10 in Jammu division and 75 in Kashmir division. The bulletin said that out of 3, 13,687 test results available, 3, 07,599 samples have tested negative till date. Additionally, till date 2, 57,565 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which included 39,718 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 30 in hospital quarantine, 2,472 in hospital isolation and 46,853 under home surveillance. Besides, 1, 68,407 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 695 positive cases, 450 active positive, 226 recovered, 19 deaths; Kulgam has 693 positive cases, 207 active positive, 476 recovered, 10 deaths; Shopian has 636 positive cases, 206 active positive, 420 recovered, 10 deaths; Baramulla has 617 positive cases, 336 active positive, 267 recovered, 14 deaths; Anantnag district has 608 positive cases, 174 active positive, 428 recovered, six deaths. “Kupwara has 453 positive cases, 121 active positive, 327 recovered, five deaths; Budgam has 346 positive cases, 207 active positive, 133 recovered, six deaths; Pulwama has 323 positive cases, 169 active positive, 150 recovered, four deaths; Bandipora has 273 positive cases, 49 active positive, 223 recovered, one death and Ganderbal has 68 positive cases, nine active positive, 59 recoveries,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 310 positive cases, 99 active positive, 204 recovered, seven deaths; Udhampur has 212 positive cases, 90 active positive, 121 recovered, one death; Ramban has 208 positive cases, 74 active positive, 134 recoveries; Kathua has 196 positive cases, 84 active positive, 112 recovered; Samba has 128 positive cases, 78 active positive, 50 recovered; “Poonch has 114 positive cases, 35 active positive, 79 recovered; Rajouri has 83 positive cases, 47 active positive, 35 recovered, one death; Doda has 68 positive cases, 18 active positive, 49 recovered; Reasi has 32 positive cases, nine active positive, 23 recovered and Kishtwar has 25 positive cases, 10 active positive, 15 recovered,” reads the bulletin. Out of 6,088 positive cases 2052 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 metres from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
