BANDIPORA, June 22: Out of 132, thirty four fresh positive cases were reported today, there are 506 active positive cases, 1343 are cumulative, 15 recovered and 20 deaths have occurred so far in north Kashmir till date. According to the district wise positive cases as on June 22, 2020 (Monday), In Baramulla district, 18 fresh positive cases including 02 travelers and 16 others were reported today , total no of cumulative cases are 617, active positive cases are 336, and cumulative recovered are 267 today, 14 deaths including of today have occurred so far in this district. In Kupwara district, 13 fresh positive cases have been reported today including 03 travelers and 10 others, 453 are cumulative cases, 121 are active positive cases, 10 have recovered as on date, and 05 deaths have occurred so far. In Bandipora district, 03 fresh positive cases including 01 traveler and 02 others were reported today, whereas 273 are cumulative cases, 49 are active positive, 05 have recovered as on date and 01 death have occurred so far. Meanwhile, it is learnt from sources that, authorities have sealed 12 unauthorized clinics in Bandipora district, and these clinics were sealed in Sumbal Division of Bandipora district. Sources said that, the drive was carried out by Chief Medical Officer, Dr Bashir Ahmad, after which he along with Thesildar and Block Medical Officer Bandipora, Dr Masrat Iqbal who is also the Nodal Officer for Coronaviurs visited a number of clinics in Sumbal Tehsil. During the inspection some were found without any registration while others were found violating Covid-19 norms, Dr Masrat Iqbal, BMO Banidpora told ET. He said that 12 clinics were sealed on spot; these include 3 USG clinics, 5 testing labs and 4 Ophthalmological clinics. Complaints are pouring in about some clinical establishments and diagnostic laboratories. “Some are running without government approval while others are looting patients in the name of tests,” the official said. The Nodal officer further said that necessary action will be taken against such establishments which are operating in violation of rules, norms, and laws and without licenses or being run by incompetent persons in the district. Most of these clinical establishments today are located adjacent to the Community Health Centre (CHC) Sumbal. Pertinently, Directorate of Health Services Kashmir has directed all Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) to constitute teams comprising members from health services and revenue department to conduct daily inspection of all clinical establishments and diagnostic laboratories across the valley.
