EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, June 22: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has demanded an immediate probe into the shocking incident in the Uttar Pradesh state-run shelter home in Kanpur wherein 57 girls tested COVID-19 positive, of which five of the girls including two minors were found pregnant as well and two have tested positive for HIV and Hepatitis-C respectively. In a press statement issued here today, AAP leader Gurmeet Singh said, on one side Modi Government is saying Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and on another side alleged abuse of minor girls in the state-run shelter home in UP’s Kanpur has come to fore, adding that ‘physical exploitation’ of minor girls exposes the BJP’s myth to provide effective governance in Uttar Pradesh, which is being ruled by it. Singh said that there has been serious disclosure about some minor girls getting pregnant. Of these, 57 have been found to be affected by Corona and one with AIDS. They should be treated immediately. The government should immediately investigate into the abuse of the minor girls, he added. |
