JAMMU, June 22: A Jammu based girl has brought laurels to the UT of J&K by winning second prize in ‘Dhai Akhar’ Letter writing competition organized by the Department of Posts, India. As per communiqué issued here, daughter of Amit Chadha and Alka Sharma-Kriti Chadha, a student of Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu secured second prize in ‘Dhai Akhar’ Letter Writing Competition-2019. The girl wrote on the topic “Dear Bapu, You are immortal” and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 10,000 by the organizing department. Senior Superintendent Post Offices, Jammu J R Angural handed over the prize money to the winner in Jammu on Monday. India Post All India Letter Writing Competitions – Letter Writing Campaign on Dear Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi), you are immortal was organized by the Government of India, Ministry of Communications Department of Posts (Philately Division) of National Letter Writing Competition under the ‘Dhai Akhar /Letter Writing Campaign’. The Indian Postal Service Department had organized a letter writing competition based on the theme ‘Mere Desh Ke Naam Khat’ (A Letter to my Motherland) in both Hindi and English for the year 2018-19 in an attempt to revive the art of letter writing. |
