Jammu, June 25: Defying social distancing being regularly advised by the Government to prevent spread of Coronavirus, Congress Party in Kathua today held a protest against the government over continued rise in price hike of essential commodities, in which several dozen workers seen tightly packed before the camera to show their resentment. The workers torched the effigy of Prime Minister, Narenda Modi over alleged failure of NDA government to take on unabated and sky touching prices of essential commodities in the country. The party workers shouted slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Though, their concern was genuine, as they were voicing against continues hike in prices of diesel, petrol and other essential commodities, but at the same time how can the leaders and the workers of national party can overlooked guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India and the World Health Organisation (WHO). It is pertinent to mention here that as per the guidelines, to keep two meter distance has been made mandatory by the authorities to prevent spread of Coronavirus, as already number positive cases in the country has crossed 4.5lacs marks with around 14000 deaths. |
