KUPWARA, June 25: Twenty seven fresh positive cases were reported today, there are 494 active positive cases, 1459 are cumulative, while 32 have recovered and 20 deaths have occurred so far, whereas strict restrictions have been directed in this north Kashmir district. According to the district wise positive cases as on June 25, 2020 (Thursday), In Baramulla district, there were 15 fresh positive cases were reported today, total no of cumulative cases are 685, active positive cases are 324, and cumulative recovered are 347 including of 13 cases that have recovered, 14 deaths including of today have occurred so far in this district. In Kupwara district, 09 fresh positive cases have been reported today , 491 are cumulative cases, 126 are active positive cases, 360 are cumulative recovered including 16 as on date, and 05 deaths have occurred so far.In Bandipora district, 03 fresh positive cases were reported today, whereas 283 are cumulative cases, 44 are active positive, 238 are cumulative recoveries including 03 as on date and 01 death have occurred so far. Meanwhile it is learnt that, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara Ansul Garg convened a joint meeting with the officers of Health Department, BDC Chairpersons, Panchs and Sarpanchs here today. The meeting discussed ongoing containment measures for COVID-19 in the district and took various decisions to ensure added efforts at ground level so as to make the district COVID free in the near future. The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to completely restrict the in and outward movement of the people in the red zones of the district. He further directed the concerned health officers to speed up the testing process in red zones as well as in other areas to cover the target public within the stipulated time. DC asked PRIs, Panchs and Sarpanchs to mobilize their efforts in the red zones and motivate people to voluntarily come forward for conducting of COVID-19 tests. He asked Chief Medical Officer Kupwara and other concerned officers to personally visit the red zones and chalk out the programme for testing of the target population.
