SRINAGAR, June 25: As three more persons died due to the Corona Virus in the past 24 hours or so the death toll in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir due to COVID-19 reached 91. In the meantime, 127 fresh cases of the virus came to the fore today. Reports said that fresh COVID-19 related deaths were reported from Poonch, Mehjoor Nagar-Srinagar and Nasrullahpora-Budgam. The Mehjoor Nagar victim turned positive after his death while as the other two persons died today. So far 80 Corona Virus deaths have taken place in Kashmir while as the figure is 11 in Jammu. Reports said that 35 fresh cases of Corona Virus were reported from Kulgam followed by Srinagar 33 cases, Baramulla 15 cases, Shopian 12 cases, Kupwara nine cases, Ganderbal six cases, Jammu four cases, Bandipora, Kathua and Rajouri three cases each, Samba two cases and Doda & Reasi one case each. The Jammu & Kashmir government through the media bulletin informed that 127 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 14 from Jammu division and 113 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 6,549. Moreover, 149 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 39 from Jammu Division and 110 from Kashmir Division. Out of 6,549 positive cases, 2,491 are active positive, 3,967 have recovered and 91 have died; 11 in Jammu division and 80 in Kashmir division. The bulletin said that out of 3, 32,445 test results available, 3, 25,896 samples have tested as negative till date. Additionally, till date 2, 68,606 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which included 39,345 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 31 in hospital quarantine, 2,492 in hospital isolation and 48,970 under home surveillance. Besides, 1, 77,678 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 785 positive cases, 529 active positive, 234 recovered, 22 deaths; Kulgam has 744 positive cases, 244 active positive, 489 recovered, 11 deaths; Shopian has 686 positive cases, 197 active positive, 479 recovered, 10 deaths; Baramulla has 685 positive cases, 324 active positive, 347 recovered, 14 deaths; Anantnag district has 622 positive cases, 160 active positive, 456 recovered, six deaths. “Kupwara has 491 positive cases, 126 active positive, 360 recovered, five deaths; Pulwama reported 386 positive cases, 214 active positive, 168 recovered, four deaths; Budgam has 347 positive cases, 160 active positive, 180 recovered, seven deaths; Bandipora has 283 positive cases, 44 active positive, 238 recovered, one death and Ganderbal has 82 positive cases, 23 active positive, 59 recoveries,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 322 positive cases, 68 active positive, 247 recovered, seven deaths; Udhampur has 217 positive cases, 64 active positive, 152 recovered, one death; Ramban has 213 positive cases, 62 active positive, 151 recovered; Kathua has 206 positive cases, 87 active positive, 119 recovered; Samba has 134 positive cases, 69 active positive, 65 recovered. “Poonch has 118 positive cases, 26 active positive, 91 recoveries, one death; Rajouri has 94 positive cases, 56 active positive, 37 recovered, one death; Doda has 72 positive cases, 17 active positive, 54 recovered, one death; Reasi has 37 positive cases, 12 active positive, 25 recovered and Kishtwar has 25 positive cases, nine active positive, 16 recovered,” reads the bulletin. Out of 6,549 positive cases in J&K 2145 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 metres from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
