Poonch, June 25: Security forces in a major breakthrough on Thursday recovered three packets of heroin like substances with address of a shop from Pakistan printed on them in bordering Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir. Senior Superintendent of Police, Poonch, Ramesh Angral here said that on information from reliable source a police team about suspicious movement of some people with respect to drug peddling is seen in the area across LOC, search operation was carried out near Dabbi forest. He said that police team comprising Station House Officer, Police Station Mendhar, Manzoor Kohli under the supervision of SDPO Mendher Neeraj Padyar launched a search operation in the area of Dabbi, Dhaarati and Basooni (Balakote). He said that after taking the material in custody all the legal formalities as per NDPS Act has been done on the spot and in this connection a case FIR 137, 2020 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act registered at police station Mendhar.
