Sikh Organizations pay homage to Galwan martyrs, take out candle march

JAMMU, June 26: A candle march was organized today at Ward No 73, Karan Bagh Gadigarh , Jammu to pay homage to the brave Indian Soldiers who laid down their lives at Ladakh’s Galwan Valley. The supreme sacrifice for the Mother Land by Indian soldiers on 15th June 2020 was highly acclaimed by the people representing various Sikh organization of JK UT. The candle march was originated from Gurudwara Sahib Basti Gadigarh to Karan Bagh crossing under the leadership of Prof (Dr) Youdhvir Singh, Councilor, Ward No 73, in which social distancing protocol was strictly followed by the people in a disciplined manner. The candle march was carried out in three line formation by a large number of social activists from various walks of life. The programme was attended by about three hundred people.
During the candle march people raised slogans in favour of Indian Army and the 20 martyred soldiers who laid their lives to safeguard the national boundaries at Galwan Valley.
While addressing the gathering at Karan Bagh, Prof (Dr) Youdhvir Singh, Councilor said that Indian soldiers stood like pillars and did not budge even though they were less in numbers and were also unarmed due to certain reasons. He appreciated the bravery of soldiers of three Sikh Artillery Battery Medium range along with the Bihar regiment. Lack of political will on the part of Union Government was also denounced by the Councilor, Prof Singh due to which 20 precious life’s of Indian soldiers were lost.
