RDD Jammu breaks all records, assigns charge of Inspector, BDO to ‘blue eyed’ VLW | | | Ajay Sharma
Early Times Report
RAJOURI, July 16: Jammu & Kashmir is probably the only place in the world where an official is given the charge of two positions above his present post and the salary is drawn by the official according to the post held by him or her in the first instance. The Rural Development Department (RDD) Jammu has created a record of sorts when they elevated a Village Level Worker (VLW) and gave him the charge as in-charge Inspector and in the same breath elevated him as in-charge Block Development Officer (BDO). The official as on date continues to draw salary as VLW. Sources told Early Times that VLW Pooran Chand posted in the Siote block in this district was elevated and given the position of in-charge Inspector in the same block. The said official despite being the VLW was given the charge of in-charge BDO Siote. Not only this, he has also been given charge as BDO of three other blocks. “The in-charge BDO of Siote has been given the charge as in-charge of Lambheri, Seri and Kila Drall blocks as in-charge BDO. The people at helm have virtually trampled over the laid down rules and regulations in assigning charge after charge to the VLW who seems to be their blue-eyed boy,” said sources. When contacted ACD Rajouri, Sushil Khajuria said that he is not aware about the assigning of charge to the VLW adding that the order has come from the top. RDD Jammu, Darshan Kumar did not picked up the phone despite repeated calls. |
