52 fresh positive, 26 recovered; 73 deaths till date in north Kashmir | Fine imposed on Covid-19 violators | | S TAHIR-UL HAQ Early Times Report
KUPWARA, July 20: Out of 751 positive cases, Fifty Two fresh positive cases were reported today, there are 1131 active positive cases, cumulative cases crossed over 3005, whereas 26 have recovered and 73 deaths have occurred so far in north Kashmir as on date. According to the district wise positive cases that are available as on July 20, 2020 (Monday), In Baramulla district, 40 fresh positive cases that were reported today, there has been an increase in the cumulative cases that have gone up to 1623, and active positive cases that stands at 664, and cumulative recovered cases are 906 including 10 as on date, while as 53 deaths, next highest after Srinagar that have occurred so far in this district. In Kupwara district, 03 fresh positive cases were reported today, while there is an increase in cumulative cases that have gone up to 918 cases, active positive cases that stands at 359, cumulative recovered are 544 and 15 deaths have occurred so far. In Bandipora district, 09 fresh positive cases reported today, whereas 464 are cumulative cases, 108 are active positive, 351 are cumulative recovered including 16 as on date and 05 deaths have occurred so far. Meanwhile, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmed, and different law enforcing agencies on Monday launched a massive drive against violators of COVID-19 SOPs. A joint team of officers led by Tehsildar Bandipora conducted inspection of Bandipora town and imposed fine on the pedestrians who were found without masks. The teams also inspected the shops to check whether the shopkeepers have undergone COVID-19 test besides attending mandatory training, a fine of Rs 5000 was realized from the erring pedestrians, customers and shopkeepers during the inspection. During the inspection the officers also appealed to the people to follow the SOPs and other health related advisories for the safety of their own health and of others, they also warned people of strict action if they continued to violate SOPs.
