KATRA, July 20: Prominent social worker, philanthropist and Founder Chairman of ‘The Vaishnodevi Group’ & Katra Mata Vaishnodevi Hotels & Restaurants Pvt Ltd Krishan Lal Thakur, died here today after a prolonged illness.
Thakur was father of President Hotel & Restaurant Association, Katra & Chairman PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Jammu Region, Rakesh Wazir.
Thakur remained President of Katra Development Committee, a social organization which fought for the causes of Katra, and remained associated with various other social activities.
Thakur started the company namely Katra Mata Vaishno Devi Hotels & Restaurants Pvt Ltd. & The Vaishnodevi Group and his business journey with Hotel The Vaishnodevi.
He is survived by his wife Pushpa Devi Thakur, daughter Shashi Thakur, son–in-law Dr Raj Paul Singh, sons-Raj Singh and Rakesh Wazir.
The cremation of Thakur will take place at Ban Ganga, Cremation Ghat, Katra at 1 pm tomorrow. |
