Rajput Sabha Youth Wing holds protest | Demands installation of Maharaja Gulab Singh’s statue at Kunjwani Chowk | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 27: To press for the demand of installing the statue of Maharaja Gulab Singh at Kunjwani Chowk, the Youth Wing of Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha held a protest at Chib Dev Sthan, Uttam Nagar Kunjwani. Addressing the protesters, president of Youth Wing Shri Amar Kshatriya Rajput Sabha, Pawan Chib asked the government not to create any controversy regarding installation of statue of Maharaja Gulab Singh at Kunjwani Chowk. Chib said that the government had promised the Sabha number of times that it will install a statue of Maharaja Gulab Singh at Kunjwani Chowk. It was way back in 2002 that the related procedure started and even the then CM, the NHAI and even the President of India gave their approval, he claimed. He said that the government allotted the rotary to install statue of Maharaja Gulab Singh, but since then many hurdles came in between like widening of road, restructuring of rotary, but our claim always stood tall, however, some BJP leaders are creating controversies and putting unnecessary hurdles in this regard. Instead they demanded to install a statue of Banda Singh Bahadur at the very same place, he added. Brinder Pratap Singh said Rajput Sabha is not against the statue of Banda Singh Bahadur but the place where it is being asked to be installed is objectionable.
