EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, July 27: Investigation conducted by Crime Branch Jammu in a heinous offence of murder in case FIR No. 81/2006 U/S 302, 147, 149, 352,201, 212/RPC r/w section 3/25 and 4/25 IAA of P/S Kana Chack Jammu resulted in punishment of life imprisonment to 8 accused persons involved in the case, besides two others were convicted who were awarded reasonable punishment. It was due to the meticulous and professional investigation by Crime Branch Jammu and effective prosecution that the case ended in conviction.
The Court of 2nd Addl. Sessions Judge Jammu convicted 10 accused persons in the case and awarded life imprisonment to Ramesh Singh, Tilak Raj, Suram Singh, all sons of Satpal of Deharan, District Jammu, Balwan Singh, son of Saran Singh of Pakkhian Jammu, Raghubir Singh, son of Sardari Singh of Marjali Jammu, Mangal Singh @ Manga, son of Bhagat Singh of Ghorkha Nagar Jammu, Manoj Lal, son of Devi Singh of Harkund Floura and Tilak Raj, son of Hans Raj of Kangrail Jammu for murder, with Rs 10,000 fine to each. Bharat Bushan, son of Devi Dutt of Near Kali Mata Mandir Janipur and Naresh Kumar, son of Roop Chand of A/P Janipur Indira Colony, Lakad Mandi were awarded two years imprisonment with fine to the tune of Rs 10,000 each.
