Jammu, July 27: The Jammu and Kashmir unit of IMD on Monday expressed that monsoon deficit in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh is not a good news. “In contrary to most states of India, there is Deficit Monsoon rainfall in both UTs of J&K, Ladakh... Not a good news.. ,” Sonam Lotus, Director, IMD, J&K here said. He added that there is no forecast of any major rainfall activity taking place in coming days. “Seems, have to wait a little longer. Let’s keep fingers crossed anyway,” he said. Mr Lotus further said that this year, monsoon hit Jamu on June 24, six days ahead of normal arrival. “The start was good but became subdued thereafter in both UTs,” he added and said that reason is complex, but generally observation is that the wind patterns are not favourable.
