DC Ramban reviews Eid-ul-Adha arrangements | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, July 27: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ramban, today convened a meeting of concerned officers, religious leaders and Maulanas of various mosques to discuss the arrangements to be put in place for celebration of the upcoming festival of Eid-ul-Azha. A threadbare discussion was also held over the Eid celebration and religious leaders suggested several measures to administration for observing the festival in a limited way besides preventing spread of COVID-19 as well as maintaining social distancing during the festival. SSP, Haseeb-ur-Rahmen, ADC, Ashok Sharma, various concerned officers and religious leaders attended the meeting. DC instructed the concerned officers to keep a strict vigil over profiteering and black-marketing of essential commodities during the festive days besides ensuring quality of eatables. He also directed the AD FCS&CA to ensure distribution of ration among the people besides making sure availability of LPG, vegetables and other essential commodities in all areas of the district. PDD and Jal Shakti Department were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply especially during festivals. The DC directed the Municipal authorities to ensure proper fumigation, sanitation and cleanliness at all the places amid COVID-19 pandemic. The DC directed the SDMs and concerned Teshildars to ensure that the COVID-19 related SOPs including wearing masks and maintenance of social distancing are followed at all public places especially during the festivals. He said that strict orders have been placed that no one should be allowed to violate SOPs related to COVID-19 because of anticipated consumer rush in the markets, and anyone found in such involvement will be dealt strictly under law. The DC urged the traders including mutton and chicken seller union to cooperate with administration and follow all necessary SOPs and guidelines related to COVID-19 pandemic in letter and spirit to prevent further spread of COVID-19 during relaxation in lockdown.
