Fresh batches for learning of Sharda script started | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 27: Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra (SSK) today held an online web meeting for start of fresh batches of 100 participants for learning of Sharda Script. SSK has taken an initiative to revive and teach the Sharda script through whatsapp medium among the interesting participants. Till date more than 115 participants in five batches have successfully completed the course, during last 3 months under lockdown due to Covid-19 pandemic. Keeping in mind the overwhelming response and requests for fresh batches for learning the Sharda script about one hundred more participants in three batches were simultaneously enrolled. These participants were admitted through an online web meeting today. The team of Sharda Lipi teachers was present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Pandita under whose guidance the teaching of the Sharda script is being conducted elaborated the methodology of instructions to the participants during the web meeting. Vice-Chairman, SSK threw light on various activities being undertaken by the Kendra for the welfare of the community. While adding that Sharda script is the native script of Kashmir and is named after Goddess Sharda. Originally, the usage of Sharda script was widespread and was prevalent in whole of North-western part of Indian subcontinent. The Kashmiri and Sanskrit languages were written in the Sharda script.
