Advisory Council in J&K: Confused BJP leaders add to chaos | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 18: At a time when speculations are rife about the formation of the advisory council in J&K, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leaders in the Union Territory seem confused. The BJP leaders issuing contradictory statements over the advisory council has brought to fore the lack of coordination among the leaders of the saffron party. Former deputy chief minister of erstwhile J&K State, Kavinder Gupta last week had said that the deliberations over the formation of the advisory council in J&K are going on and would enter the conclusive phase very soon. “Yes, the deliberations are on and let’s see what decision will be taken,” Gupta had said. Reports also quoted another senior BJP leader who wished not to be named, stating that the deliberations in this regard were going on since long, but the delay in announcing the formation of the Advisory Council occurred due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.“It would probably take a month or two more to announce the formation of an Advisory Council in Jammu and Kashmir,” he had said. However, another senior BJP leader has termed the possibility about the formation of an advisory council as bleak stating that no such proposal is under consideration at present. Contradiction within the BJP leaders has become a riddle as no one knows whether the J&K unit of the party supports the proposal of advisory council formation or it is averse to the idea. So far, it is only chaos and confusion which is prevalent to the core. |
