| Excise team conducts raid in Manwal, one person arrested, another absconding | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 20: Excise team carried out a joint operation with a police from Police Post Manwal last night. During the operation, two accused namely Sohan Singh alias Sonu S/o Isher das R/o Chani, Mjalata and Sohan Singh S/o Balwan Singh R/o Nadal Manwal, were found carrying out illegal sale of liquor at M/S Arjun Dhaba and Fast Food restaurant, Nadal Manwal, Tehsil Dansal, District Jammu. One person was arrested on spot while the other manahed to escape, who is still absconding. During the search of the premises, a total of 12 bottles and 7 pints of JK Special Whiskey (JKSW) and 1 Nip of Imperial Blue Whiskey were recovered whereas an FIR No 146/2020 under relevant section of the Excise Act has been lodged at Police Post Manwal.
The entire operation was carried out under the close supervision of Excise Commissioner RK Shavan, Dy. Excise Commissioner (Executive) Amarjeet Singh, and Mohd Rafie Naik, ETO City Excise Range South. |
