Jammu, Aug 20: Shiv Sena Bala Saheb Thackeray Jammu and Kashmir unit today staged a protest demonstration over the alleged worst traffic system in Jammu city. They also submitted memorandum to IGP office Jammu , with an appeal to improve traffic system instead of penalizing the people. Shivsena leaders led by party president J&K, Manish Sahni staged a protest outside the Jammu Press Club campus today. Party Women’s Wing President Meenakshi Chibber said that to achieve the challan target, traffic personnel are ignoring traffic improvements. She said that according to the higher officials of the department, the better traffic worker is the one who gives more challans. Traffic personnel are busy to meet their targets, regardless of traffic jams, she said. At the same time working President Ashwini Gupta appealed to the top officials of the department, that instead of patting the back of more challans, they should be punished, because the failure of the officer posted in that area results in violation of traffic rules. General Secretary Vikas Bakshi said that challan are also being made for vehicles parked outside the house to achieve the target. With all above Secretary Raj Singh, Bhuri Singh, Raju Salaria, Pooja Rani, Sanjeev Soodan were present on this occasion. |
