No lack of talents in the country
8/21/2020 12:54:47 AM

E.Rajesh Pathak

‘Country lacks neither talent, nor technology and not capital. We have world-class companies in banking, pharmacy and auto sectors, which have the credit of high performance profit wise. That without flow of money from China everything would come to halt is a weak thinking. Why could investment not come from inside the country, and from the other countries of the world?’- Vipinpreet Singh, co-founder of Mobikwik. This is what he said in the debate organised in business Chanel ‘CNBC Awaz’ regarding Chinese investment in our start-ups. We need to take this also into account while thinking over the consequences of boycott of China our economy has to bear. However due to China’s dubious role in the whole episode of Corona pandemic and, more so, its unethical trade practices many of the companies have already begun to consider their exit from China to other countries. Of them, India is preferably on their top choice. For they are not unaware of the pool of skilled work-force India enjoys. Known to keep sharp eyes on the scenario of human resources at large, world renowned organisation ‘Korn Ferry’ has same conclusion to draw on the basis of its survey. It reports that by the approach of year 2030, when entire world would be struggling for want of skilled work-force India would emerge to show it the way out of this crisis through its additional 24.5 crore skilled work-force available to it then. Moreover the consultancy firm in accounting ‘KPMG’ holds no different view. According to its survey that in the researches and new inventions made in artificial intelligence; machine learning; and block chain internet of things, India shares second spot in the world ranking with China. The America’s IBM[ International Business Machines Corporation] is the leading multinational company in the world that works in the field of cloud-computing; artificial intelligence; computer hardware and software. In all it has 3,52,600 employees, out of which more than 1,50,0000 are of Indian origin. [according to year 2019 data]! Its CEO presently is also none other than that of Indian origin, whose name is Arvind Krishnan. “India is seen as the world software capital , and in almost every world renowned software company every third person is Indian! When America refused India to give ‘Cray’ super computer even at the cost of 36 crores rupees, India then managed to have built in few lakhs of rupees its swadeshi parallel processor, ‘Param’, which had been in many aspects even better and of higher processing speed than ‘Cray’ super computer. Today India is now building Param super computer that works with processing speed as high as 500 teraflop; and, more notably, gained the reputation of world leader in this field through its export.’[‘Ajay Rashtra’-Dr. Bhagwati Prasad; p-46] It is because of this that in this moment of crisis our technocrats came as a great succour to so many companies worldwide through working from home. This also unfolded the chance for such technically well skilled individuals to align themselves with global-companies, who had earlier been unable to go abroad. Whether it be the issue of start-ups or it be the restriction on Chinese apps the talents the country proudly possess will come out successful in tiding over any unfavourable condition born out of it, no doubt. And breakthrough has also begun to be appeared. Regarding video-calling country has seen the dominance of Chinese app, ‘Zoom’. But now its days have started to be over too. Now we have our own ‘Jeo-meet’ to have got ready to be used as an alternative to ‘Zoom’. Likewise, including banned ‘Tik-Tok’ app, many other swadeshi alternatives to so many Chinese apps have gradually begun to register their arrival in the market. Sunder Pichai, CEO Google, now had just made the announcement of making in the country the investment of 75000 dollars that RIL[Reliance Industries Limited] has even struck a deal with it of entering into the strategic partnership. Under this in the area of 4G and 5G solution, android based smartphone manufacturing the work will be done jointly. Those who little rely on the capabilities of the country they should not forget that the things regarding which we today are dependent on China, in many of them we were earlier completely self-dependent. To be used as raw materials in the drugs, APIs[Active pharmaceutical ingredients] previously produced in India itself. But later their import shot up from 1% in 1991 to 70% in 2019. In order to transform the present scenario government has started a project spanning 8 years, in which provision of 7000 crores rupees is made. Actually even in the front of self-reliance we are outdone by the China. Going far ahead of us it has already imposed restriction on the 2848 products exported by us, whereas we took the same steps against it on only 433 products.
