Shiv sena castigates government, demands postponement of NEET, JEE | | | EArly times Report
Jammu, Aug 29: Leaders of Shiv Sena Balasaheb Thackeray J&K Unit today demanded postponement of JEE, NEET and NDA tests like CLAT examination which was deferred in the wake of Covid-19 scare. Addressing media persons at Shivsena Bhawan Jammu today, Manish Sahni, J&K President appealed to the central government to come out of the dictatorial attitude and postponed the mentioned exams. Sahni said that when the CLAT exams can be postponed , the obstinate attitude towards NEET and JEE is putting the lives of students at risk. On the consent claim of 80% of the students, Sahni said, it was compulsion ,they have no other choice . “They are being forced to risk their lives. Raising the voice of the students of Jammu and Kashmir, Sahni said that after the abrogation of Article 370, the ban on 4G internet services in Jammu and unrest in Kashmir is not hidden from anyone. Sahni said that several states including Maharashtra and the Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray; Cabinet Minister, Aditya Thackeray; West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamta Banerjee had appealed to PM Modi to postpone these examinations Along with this, a review petition has also been filed in the High Court. He said that keeping in mind the safety of the students and their families, exams must be Postponed until the Covid-19 pandemic subside or a vaccine is introduced. On this occasion President Mahila wing, Meenakshi Chibber; working President, Ashwini Gupta, Gen Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Secretary Raj Singh; joint Secretary, Raju Salaria and Sanjeev Soodan were present on the occasion.
