6 injured as Tata Sumo falls into gorge in Doda | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Aug 29: At least six persons, three of them women, were injured when a Tata Sumo they were travelling in met with an accident near Bathri on Thathri-Gandoh Road in Doda district on Saturday. Sources informed that a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK06-4862 was on its way from Gandoh to Thathri when it skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge near Bathri. After getting information of the accident, a police party led by Incharge Police Post Kahara Sub Inspector Mukhtyar Ahmed and local youths immediately rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. In absence of the availability of an Ambulance that failed to reach the spot, Police took the help of few private vehicles to shift the injured to Thatri Trauma Center from where four critically injured persons were shifted to GMC Doda for further treatment. Speaking to Early Times, a local Muddasir Ali Khan said that unfortunately ambulance sanctioned for PHC Malanoo and Kahara did not reach the spot as both the ambulances were shifted to some other places as a result of which during accident time which is a routine thing on Thathri-Gandoh section of the road. Another local youth Mohsin Jamal said that hundreds of time he and the local people requested the administration to keep the ambulance of PHC Malanoo stationed at the hospital, but it is almost a year now the ambulance is stationed for repairing at a workshop. The injured who are under treatment at Trauma Hospital Thatri were identified as Muzzafar Hussain (28 yrs), Talib Hussain (32 yrs, driver of the vehicle) while four other injured persons who were referred to GMC Doda have been identified as Hajra Begum (55 yrs), Zarina Begum (30 yrs), Shakeel Ahmed (35 yrs) and Hashma Begum (60 yrs). |
