Jammu, Aug 28: The 6th meeting of the Court of Central University of Jammu (CUJ) was held in online mode on Friday with Chancellor, Ambassador Gopalaswami Parthasarathy in chair. Addressing the participants, Chancellor, Gopalaswami Parthasarathy, said the university has achieved pinnacles of glory in academic and administrative affairs. He said that although the university is doing reasonably well in academics yet, it is always open and welcome to the suggestions and advice from the members of the Court who are great intellectuals and educationists from across the country, for further improvements. Chancellor appreciated the institutional building efforts and initiatives of Prof Ashok Aima for academic visibility of the University at National and international Levels. He impressed upon him to continue his support, guidance and mentoring of Central University of Jammu in its journey to become a Centre of excellence. Vice Chancellor Prof Ashok Aima, gave a brief description about major achievements of the university during his tenure since April 2015. The University also has been successful in attaining an All India character by admitting students and research scholars across diverse regions of the country, thereby offering a testimony to the nationalistic bonding and the academic spectrum of the Central University of Jammu. This progressive developmental trend is quite visible in infrastructural and support facilities including digital India initiative. Vice Chancellor placed on record appreciation to teaching and non-teaching staff for their outstanding and exemplary contribution to Academic and Corporate Life of Central University of Jammu during his tenure and impressed upon them to continue with same zeal. Despite COVID-19 pandemic and 2G environment 41 members of court participated in the deliberations including Deans, Heads, Directors and eminent external members Prof. Amitabh Mattoo, Prof. Varun Sahni, Prof. Manoj Dhar, Prof. R K. Sinha, Prof. Mehraju-ud-din, Prof. Anil Gupta, Dr. Ashok Bhan, Sonam Wangchok, Prof. Bandana Panday, Sh. R K. Chibber, Sanjay Kachroo, Prof. G. M. Shah, Prof. U P. Singh, Prof. S. K. Gupta, Prof. Alka Sharma and Dr. Kailash Kumar Pathak. The members discussed about 20 agenda items and took important decision in this regard. Registrar, Dr. Ravi Kumar presented the agenda items.
