Administrator visits Gandhi Nagar COVID Hospital to check patient facilities

Jammu, Aug 29: Amit Sharma, Administrator, Government Medical College Hospital & Associated Hospitals Jammu today conducted a surprise visit at Gandhi Nagar COVID Hospital wherein he made a detailed analysis and inspection of facilities available for Covid Positive patients being admitted here from time to time. During the visit, Dr Krishan Gupta (NHM) and his team accompanied him during the visit. Later, Administrator Amit Sharma shared some important observations with Principal, GMC Jammu Dr Nasib Chand Digra for provisioning better and improved healthcare to the patients recovering from Covid pandemic in these ace healthcare institutions of the Union Territory.
During the visit, Administrator AHJ Amit Sharma took a round of all floors of the hospital wherein the Nodal Officer showed him all facilities for the COVID patients in this all-important Institutional Quarantine facility in winter capital of the Union Territory.
Amit was very particular about the hygiene and cleanliness conditions being maintained here as initially, he had received lot of calls directly from the patients admitted here but during this surprise visit, he found everything in order and all floors from ground to top floor clean and well-maintained.
Administrator Amit Sharma also talked with the para medical and nursing staff deputed from Super Specialty Hospital here and directed them to maintain total caution and adhere to COVID protocol strictly while dealing with patients admitted here.
Dr Krishan assured Administrator that the quality and quantity of medicines including PPE, Gloves, Masks, Sanitizers and all related Medical Equipment were available in sufficient quantity in the Hospital.
He was also informed that the Nodal Officers ensure timely serving of food, medicines and all requisite facilities which are required for quick recovery of the patients here.
When enquired, it was informed to the Administrator Amit Sharma that around 100 Covid positive patients were under admission here as on date while 12 patients were discharged today after getting negative reports. It was also disclosed that the positive patients are recovering fast here which include doctors, PGs, nurses, para medical staff and families on different floors of the Gandhi Nagar Hospital. He was also informed that two JKAS Officers and a Tehsildar are also getting treated here and before leaving, Amit wished all of them quick recovery and directed all concerned to get in touch with Administration 24x7 as and when required so as to ensure safe and best recovery of all COVID patients admitted here.
While concluding the visit, Amit Sharma, Administrator Associated Hospitals Jammu placed on record appreciation about the efforts being made by all Covid Hospital teams and real Covid Warriors of para medical staff led by all Medical Superintendents including Dr Rajeshwar, Dr Arun, Dr Deepak, Dr Bharat Bhushan and others but at the same time, he mentioned that lot more strenuous efforts are still required to fight this looming global pandemic which is still very prevalent and our target should be to flatten the curve of Covid Positive patients in the Union Territory as soon as possible.
