Workers are real strength of Congress

Early Times Report

Srinagar, Aug 29: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress committee has said that the biggest strength of the party are its dedicated Cadres and the collective leadership of the party and the mature and dynamic national leadership.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) said that the party runs with the collective and united efforts of leaders and workers and its success and failures are also collective in nature. It said that it was due to the dynamic leadership and great contributions of Smt. Sonia Gandhi that Congress started its revival throughout the country including Jammu and Kashmir and the party came to form coalition govt in 2002 and later also came to power at the Centre as UPA -1 and UPA-2.
It was due to the mature leadership and immense contributions of the Gandhi family that Congress was able to face different challenges, ensuring that the ugliest situation confronting it would not overpower it and it always emerged out stronger.
Referring to the efforts of Rahul Gandhi to revive the frontal organizations, as Incharge General Secretary, the JKPCC said he had started a process of elections to youth Congress and NSUI as a result, an independent election commission of the Party was appointed to conduct the same, though some senior leaders remained critical of the process. It said the party has always adopted the system of election through consensus, which has always strengthed the party, while stating that any collective decision in this regard, would be acceptable to all and in the larger interests of the party. As far as Jammu and Kashmir is concerned, the Gandhi Nehru family has always maintained a special bond with the people right from Jawahar Lal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and down the line and the people especially the Cadres have great faith in the family.
It said that it is high time to collectively and unitedly fight the communal and divisive forces in the country, for which the congress party had always been on the forefront and it has to redouble its efforts and energy to defeat such forces , the JKPCC added.
