Jammu, Aug 31: Members of J&K Pahari Revolutionary Movement (JKPRM) met the Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu, Prof. Naresh Padha here at Jammu today. The delegation comprising of Raja Mehmood Khan, Gagan Mahajan and Nitan Sharma highlighted the issue of non inclusion of Pahari Speaking People (Category) in admissions of University of Jammu for session 2020-2021. The University of Jammu had advertised admissions to the various courses vide notification number DAA/206571-99 but there was no mention of the recent reservation of the Pahari Speaking People throughout the admission process. The delegation sought rectification of this issue and demanded that the reservation of pahari speaking people be granted at the earliest. The Dean Academic Affairs accompanied by the Deputy Registrar, Sumita Sharma gave a patient hearing to the matter and assured that all categories shall be included in the admission process henceforth. The delegation was informed that the aforesaid matter has already been discussed with the Vice Chancellor and he has assured immediate redressal for the same.The Dean Academic Affairs also informed the delegation that keeping in view the present scenario, provision has been made for the online registration of grievances and queries related to admission process and related matters by the University. |
