9/2/2020 11:53:01 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 2: Group of Dogra youth (Janta Ki Awaaz) staged a protest demonstration and demanded public holiday on the birth anniversary of Hari Singh. The activists raised slogans like “Maharaja Hari Singh ji k Janam Din par ABKASH karo ABKASH karo”, We want Public Holiday on 23 sept”, “Hum kya Chahty Maharaja ka Sammaan”, “BJP Hai Hai”.
Addressing the media, Bhanu urged Jammu and Kashmir LG to declare Maharaja Hari Singh’s birth anniversary as a public holiday. In fact, a resolution to this effect passed in the legislative council some years ago, but so far no action has been taken.
Bhanu said that let us recall that it was due to Maharaja Hari Singh ji that J&K state became a part of India when he signed the instrument of accession on October 26, 1947. Apart from that he was a progressive and a far-sighted ruler who instituted many social and economic reforms for the welfare of the people.
Describing Maharaja Hari Singh as the most progressive ruler of princely India, He said that observing his birthday as public holiday would be a befitting tribute to the legendary ruler which was long overdue. He said that September 23rd was ignored thus disregarding the monumental contributions of the Maharaja who gave millions of nationalist people of the state the greatest satisfaction of calling themselves as proud Indians. Other who were present including Amit sharma, Akash Manhas, Darminder Singh, Akash Meenia, Aman khajuria, Ajay Sharma, Rajesh Badgal, Neeraj kumar, Parshant Banote, Shubhum parmodhi, Rajat Kundan, Sundanan sharma, Tarish Sharma, lovish sharma, Ansh mehra, arjun Suri, Raj kumar, mannu suri etc.
