Zero tolerance for corruption, expect unprecedented package in week's time: Manoj Sinha | Says no division, discrimination between Jammu & Kashmir regions | | Jehangir Rashid EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, Sep 14: Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha today said that there is zero tolerance for corruption and that corruption can be stopped when manual work is replaced by technology. He said an unprecedented package would be announced for Jammu & Kashmir soon. Addressing a press conference here today, the Lieutenant Governor acknowledged the fact that corruption has spread its tentacles like anything in Jammu & Kashmir. "One way of stopping the corruption is to minimize human interference and same has to be replaced by technology. I hope this would help in eradicating corruption and we are on the job." Sinha said that for the past 15-20 years the business community of the union territory has suffered immensely and not for the past 15 months as is a common notion. He said that people would come to know about very good news soon and this would include businessmen as well. "My belief is that businessmen have been suffering for the past 15-20 years. A committee that was set up for revival of business has submitted its report and same has been forwarded to central government. Let me tell you that an unprecedented package would be announced within a week and it would cover all sections of society including businessmen," said the LG. Sinha said that there would be no discrimination and division between Jammu & Kashmir regions adding that equitable development would be ensured. He said the government is working towards the proper development of Jammu & Srinagar cities and the finer details in this regard would be made public soon. "There is an integrated programme for development of Jammu & Srinagar and the important cities as well as towns of Jammu & Kashmir. Experts have been roped in this regard and you should wait for some time. We are starting from the development of villages but we will not forget about major cities. Proper programme would be framed for all including Dal lake and Wular lake," said the LG. Sinha said that the administration would devise a plan for disposal of solid waste across the union territory and that corporations as well as municipalities would be covered under the programme. He said that it was not possible to complete all the works that were demanded during the previous phases of Back to Village programme. "There is nothing which is beyond my domain and I think everything is within my domain. I assure you that the problems being faced by people during the movement of security forces convoy would be looked into. Just give me some time and I assure you that everything will be fine," said Sinha. He said that administration would look into erection of barricades adding that un-necessary ones would be removed.
