9/16/2020 11:57:19 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 16: With the arrest of two persons for managing fake Coronavirus negative certificates, one thing has become clear that Covid-19 certificates are on sale in Kashmir Valley to travel to different parts of the country.
Amid allegations that some private laboratories were issuing fake Corona negative certificates in exchange of huge money, police have nabbed two drivers who had managed such certificates just to take passengers.
According to a Kashmir based news agency, the family had lodged a complaint that two drivers of passenger vehicles had arranged Covid negative certificates for them after the family asked for a procedure to travel out of Valley.
Reports said that the family had asked the drivers about the travel procedure and Covid testing. Without wasting time, drivers took Aadhar cards of all family members and within minutes Covid negative reports were handed over to all the family members without any test.
Reports said that some private laboratories were issuing fake corona negative certificates in exchange for some money thus cheating the people and putting the lives of the public in great danger by managing the fake reports. In this information case FIR No, 73/2020 U/S 420, 468, 269 IPC stands registered with police and investigation has started to ascertain how many such fake certificates have been issued.
During the course of investigation both the drivers have been arrested and on their personal search some Covid -19 reports with negative results have been recovered from their procession.
Earlier on September 8, police had arrested two persons for allegedly issuing fake movement passes in lieu of money from people entering Kathua district.
The duo was arrested at Lakhanpur corridor along the Jammu-Pathankot highway.
They were accepting money for making illegal dispatch passes for persons entering the Union Territory.
A number of dispatch slips were recovered from their possession. A case under relevant sections of law was registered against them and further investigation is on, the officials said.
