Back to Village’ takes governance to far-flung areas

UDHAMPUR, Oct 6 : On Day five of ‘Back to Village’ initiative series of activities were taken up across 86 panchayats of this district, with visiting officers conducting public meets, visits to assess the amenities available for the people, besides identifying potential areas for growth.
The senior officers who visited various Panchayats under B2V3 included Suresh Chug, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, SMD J&K, ICDS Nitu Gupta, Samita Sethi, Director, Command Area Development/Director Social Welfare Jammu, Director Tourism, Jammu, Raj Kumar Katoch, Additional Secretary to Government, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj, Rakesh Kumar.
Public interactions in Panchayats saw people raising various issues. The demanded blacktopping of link roads, smooth distribution, supply of ration, adequate drinking water supply, provision of computers in schools, Installation of hand pumps in the village, Opening of cutting tailoring training centers, construction of lane and drains, plying of more buses to particular areas, early completion of the PMGSY roads, addressing of voltage problem, adequate staff in educational & Health institutions.
During the day several activities were also conducted in the panchayats across the district including women gram abhas, plantation drives, distribution of KCC, Ayushman golden cards, Sports kits, Domicile and SC certificates, Inspection of 14th FC, MGNREGA & others works by visiting officers, Swacchhta oath, Sports activities, Coffee Table Book, Identification of Awas plus beneficiary, and interactions about centrally and state sponsored schemes available for people, Greh pravesh ceremonies of PMAY beneficiaries distribution of prosthetic aids by social welfare .
Meanwhile, DDC, Dr. Piyush Singla said that B2V programme is being closely monitored and all issues projected in the gram abhas are being recorded and some soft issues are resolved on the spot after reports of visiting officers.
He further added that all the demands projected in B2V1& B2V2 are captured and compiled and action taken on these demands is also updated to the concerned panchayats. He said it is people’s programme and people should participate enthusiastically.
