At former MD JKHDC farewell, social distance/SOPs kept in shelves | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, Oct 6: Despite spike in Covid-19 positive cases in the last few weeks in J&K, there are people especially those, who are holding administrative posts, still not bothered about the impact of the dreadful pathogen. Their inattentiveness with regard to the social distancing and SOPs revealed how little does they care for the people and their precious lives amid the prevalent pandemic which is taking a heavy toll and showing its dreadful side with each passing day. In one such incident, several officials had gathered at the farewell of former Managing Director of Jammu and Kashmir Handloom Development Corporation (JKHDC) Rakesh Sharma in a clear violation of social distancing norms. Rakesh Sharma, former Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir Handloom Development Corporation has been transferred recently to another department. On Monday, many officials had gathered at his office without following social distancing norms. As per the pictures accessed by Early Times, many employees presented gifts to the former Managing Director. These pictures show that Sharma and others are standing close to each other throwing caution to the wind. The pictures show that Sharma and many other officials were not wearing masks or practicing social distancing. When contacted Rakesh Sharma, he said, “Some officials accompanied me outside the office to see off. There was no violation of social distancing norms.” |
