CF criticizes rhetoric over equitable development | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 6: Citizen’s Forum has criticized the often repeated rhetoric by each ruler of Jammu and Kashmir that equitable share would be provided to both the regions. RK Chadha senior member said, this started from Farooq Abdullah to Mufti Mohamad Syeed and finally Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured equitable treatment at the time of abrogation of Art. 370. “We all demand from LG Manoj Sinah what is his opinion about this Equitable Share for both regions will it be executed during his Administration”, he said, adding that it was Farooq Abdullah who started blackmailing the Center in the name of Pakistan that MUF members were able to convert the J&K Assembly into a Pakistan assembly and then afterwards in the name of Militancy Kashmir always got major share of so called equitable share. Chadha further said we agree there are thousands of young women and men in Kashmir struggling for jobs. But the LG should know that the rate of unemployment is 31 percent in Kashmir and 69 percent in Jammu and disbursement of funds from 2010 to 2013 Kashmir Rs. 69.04 crores and Jammu only Rs. 20.40 crores. A total of 1.18 lakh youth were benefited in Kashmir and only 43 thousands youths were considered for VSA. Tourism expenditure in Jammu region is only 10 percent of the total budget and balance goes to Kashmir. Will we ever get an equal share in funds and jobs in our life time, he said.
