JK reports 677 fresh cases of Corona Virus, seven more patients in past 24 hours
Positive cases 84708, active positive 9866, recovered 73502, deaths 1340

SRINAGAR, Oct 13: The positive cases of Corona Virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 84,708 after 677 new cases of virus were reported today. The death toll reached 1340 as seven more patients died in past 24 hours.
Srinagar district reported 145 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 121 cases, Baramulla district 53 cases, Pulwama district 43 cases, Rajouri district 41 cases, Kishtwar district 40 cases, Budgam district 35 cases, Bandipora district 24 cases, Doda and Reasi districts 23 cases each, Ganderbal district 22 cases, Samba district 21 cases, Kupwara district 18 cases, Udhampur district 16 cases, Anantnag district 14 cases, Poonch district 12 cases, Kulgam and Ramban districts nine cases each, Kathua district seven cases and Shopian district one case.
Jammu and Baramulla districts reported two fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by a death each in Srinagar, Budgam and Rajouri districts. So far 903 virus related deaths have taken place in Kashmir valley and in Jammu division the number of such deaths in Kashmir valley is 437.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 677 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 313 from Jammu division and 364 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 84,708. Also seven COVID-19 deaths have been reported; three from Jammu division and four from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 796 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 398 from Jammu Division and 398 from Kashmir Division. Out of 84,708 positive cases, 9,866 are active positive, 73,502 have recovered and 1,340 have died; 437 in Jammu division and 903 in Kashmir division.
Out of 18, 75,262 test results available, 17, 90,554 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 6, 17,194 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 24,370 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 9,866 in isolation and 49,206 in home surveillance. Besides, 5, 32,412 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 16,901 positive cases, 1,721 active positive, 14,860 recovered, 320 deaths; Budgam has 5,472 positive cases, 653 active positive, 4,729 recovered, 90 deaths; Baramulla has 4,963 positive cases, 1,459 active positive, 3,372 recovered, 132 deaths; Pulwama has 4,290 positive cases, 295 active positive, 3,921 recovered, 74 deaths; Kupwara has 3,944 positive cases, 617 active positive, 3,257 recovered, 70 deaths.
“Anantnag has 3,815 positive cases, 346 active positive, 3,399 recovered, 70 deaths; Bandipora has 3,720 positive cases, 346 active positive, 3,332 recovered, 42 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,190 positive cases, 254 active positive, 2906 recovered, 30 deaths; Kulgam has 2,349 positive cases, 84 active positive, 2,222 recovered, 43 deaths and Shopian has 2,102 positive cases, 106 active positive, 1,964 recovered, 32 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 15,502 positive cases, 1,273 active positive, 14,002 recovered, 227 deaths; Rajouri has 3,035 positive cases, 425 active positive, 2,566 recovered, 44 deaths; Udhampur has 2,516 positive cases, 183 active positive, 2,310 recovered, 23 deaths; Doda has 2,411 positive cases, 477 active positive, 1,894 recovered, 40 deaths; Kathua has 2,280 positive cases, 107 active positive, 2,144 recovered, 29 deaths.
“Poonch has 2,029 positive cases, 666 active positive, 1,341 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,010 positive cases, 405 active positive, 1,581 recovered, 24 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,560 positive cases, 163 active positive, 1,386 recovered, 11 deaths; Ramban has 1,462 positive cases, 85 active positive, 1,366 recovered, 11 deaths and Reasi has 1,157 positive cases, 201 active positive, 950 recovered, six deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 84,708 positive cases in J&K, 9,241 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
