Two newly recruited Al-Badr militants surrender in Tujjar Sopore | | | S TAHIR-UL HAQ Early Times Report
BARAMULLA, Oct 22: In a rare incident after militants were encircled by forces in Tujjar area of this north Kashmir's Sopore town surrendered before security forces on Thursday. According to police spokesperson that, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that after two newly recruited militants of Al-Badr were encircled by forces on a tip off information surrendered before Police and Army's 22 Rashtriya Rifle's (RR) in Tujjar area of Sopore. IGP further said that we brought their families to the encounter site to persuade them to surrender, eventually they surrendered before Police and army. We congratulate to their families and newly recruited militants as should come back into mainstream, the IGP added. However sources said that two local militants were trapped after cordon and search operation was launched by joint team of security forces including Army, SoG, Police and CRPF in Tujjar area of Sopore town on Thursday morning. Two families of the newly recruited militants of Al-Badr were called to offer surrender to the hiding militants. The families were called just to save their kin from life consuming and other negative consequences of wrong paths. The newly recruits were identified as, Abid Ahmad War s/o Mushtaq Ahmad War r/o Wadoora Sopore, Mehraj-ud Din War s/o Farooq Ahmad War r/o Wadoora Sopore. Regarding the incident, case FIR no: 74/2020 U/S 7/25 I.A.Act registered in Police station Bomia Sopore and investigation taken up. Earlier, a joint team of forces had launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) after getting specific information about presence of some militants in Tujjar area of this north Kashmir district. |
