Complaints closed without disposal on ground
Queer ways of JK Grievance Cell
10/22/2020 11:51:16 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 22: Making the mockery of guaranteed public service delivery, the Grievance Cell in J&K UT has been disposing-off complaints pertaining to different departments without their redressal on the ground.
Sources told Early Times that several incidents have been reported in the past wherein public complaints were closed by the cell without ensuring their disposal in reality which disappointed the people, who rely on this portal to get their grievances redressed. A panchayat representative had lodged a complaint with the Grievance Cell regarding a hand pump lying defunct in their area for months. He had mentioned in the complaint that his repeated requests to the concerned department have not yielded any results.
The complainant Satish Sharma had lodged a complaint No. 999001579181 on 06-10-2020 on the official website jkgrievance.in › AwazAAwam for repairing the hand pump at village Rajpura Camp of Block Marrh where no PHE water supply line is available.
He said that he was shocked to see that the complaint was shown disposed off on 15-10-2020 without its redressal. “When I shared my concern with Jammu and Kashmir Government Grievance Cell on twitter, they asked me to lodge a fresh complaint. I want to ask how a complaint was closed without ensuring its disposal on the ground,” he said.
He said, “The Grievance Cell handling the complaints in such a casual manner has disappointed all of us. The government should hold the concerned officials accountable for handling public complaints with such slackness.”
