Bhagat demands resumption of work on abandoned HEP projects | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KISHTWAR, Nov 9: A prominent leader and social activist of District Kishtwar Ajeet Bhagat has urged the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory Government to immediately start the work on abandoned Hydro Electric Power Projects like Rattle Drabshalla Hydro Electric Project (HEP) 850 MW and Lower Kalnai Hydro Eletric Project ( HEP) besides the new projects which are under consideration like Karthai-I Paddar 240 MW and Karthai-II Paddar 950 MW and other Projects which are under execution in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory under the control of Jammu Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC). Bhagat said prominent issues related to the functioning of Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC) which has been operating erratically without a head since long time has resulted in the week functioning of the Corporation and the progress has been put at grinding halt. He appealed to the Lieutenant Governor Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory to give sympathetic consideration to this vital issue and post some honest and dedicated officer having Engineering back ground as full time Managing Director, Jammu Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC) so that this Corporation may function smoothly and the pending issues may be resolved at the earliest in the interest of the inhabitants of state as well government. |
