SRINAGAR, Nov 9: With 460 new positive cases of Corona Virus being reported today the total number of positive cases in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 99,352. Following nine deaths in the past 24 hours or so the total number of casualties reached 1,542. Srinagar district reported 161 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 99 cases, Baramulla district 33 cases, Ganderbal district 31 cases, Udhampur district 19 cases, Budgam and Kupwara districts 18 cases each, Anantnag district 17 cases, Bandipora district 13 cases, Doda and Kishtwar districts 10 cases each, Kulgam and Kathua districts seven cases each, Pulwama district five cases, Shopian district four cases, Rajouri district three cases, Samba and Ramban districts two cases each and Poonch district one case. Srinagar district reported six fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by a death each in Jammu, Baramulla and Kupwara districts. So far 1,023 people have died due to the virus while as in the Jammu division 519 deaths have occurred due to the virus. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 460 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 153 from Jammu division and 307 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 99,352. Also nine COVID-19 deaths have been reported; one from Jammu division and eight from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 564 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 179 from Jammu Division and 385 from Kashmir Division. Out of 92,245 positive cases, 5,565 are active positive, 99,352 have recovered and 1,542 have died; 519 in Jammu division and 1,023 in Kashmir division. Out of 25, 05,835 test results available, 24, 06,483 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 6, 68,726 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 15,627 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,565 in isolation and 42,711 in home surveillance. Besides, 6, 03,281 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 20,574 positive cases, 1,427 active positive, 18,766 recovered, 381 deaths; Baramulla has 6,526 positive cases, 902 active positive, 5,474 recovered, 150 deaths; Budgam has 6,276 positive cases, 296 active positive, 5,885 recovered, 95 deaths; Pulwama has 4,784 positive cases, 171 active positive, 4,530 recovered, 83 deaths; Kupwara has 4,688 positive cases, 436 active positive, 4,177 recovered, 75 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,327 positive cases, 193 active positive, 4,059 recovered, 75 deaths; Bandipora has 4,157 positive cases, 181 active positive, 3,930 recovered, 46 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,767 positive cases, 258 active positive, 3,474 recovered, 35 deaths; Kulgam has 2,528 positive cases, 88 active positive, 2,392 recovered, 48 deaths and Shopian has 2,263 positive cases, 91 active positive, 2,137 recovered, 35 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 18,469 positive cases, 625 active positive, 17,574 recovered, 270 deaths; Rajouri has 3,269 positive cases, 90 active positive, 3,131 recovered, 48 deaths; Udhampur has 2,863 positive cases, 183 active positive, 2,648 recovered, 32 deaths; Doda has 2,730 positive cases, 104 active positive, 2,578 recovered, 48 deaths; Kathua has 2,525 positive cases, 58 active positive, 2,434 recovered, 33 deaths. “Poonch has 2,312 positive cases, 80 active positive, 2,210 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,225 positive cases, 92 active positive, 2,108 recovered, 25 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,047 positive cases, 131 active positive, 1901 recovered, 15 deaths; Ramban has 1,689 positive cases, 101 active positive, 1,570 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,333 positive cases, 58 active positive, 1,267 recovered, eight deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 99,352 positive cases in J&K, 10,069 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
