After calling DDC polls ‘end of politics,’ Naeem Akther takes U-turn | Confusion within PAGD | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 9: Leaders of Peoples Alliance of Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) issuing contradictory statements have created chaos and confusion within the rank and file of the amalgam. A senior PDP leader and former minister Naeem Akhtar already known for his headline hogging statements and remarks has now taken a complete U turn in his stand on participation in the forthcoming DDC polls. It was on Oct 19, this year when Akhtar termed the DDC polls as the worst thing that has happened in the political scenario of Jammu and Kashmir. He went ahead calling the process an “end of politics.” Twenty days after terming DDC elections as the end of politics, Akhter termed the poll-related announcement by alliance as a “very good decision,” and predicted landslide win for the combination. The polls for the District Development Council were announced last month and are being held on November 28, this year. |
