KATHUA, Nov 12: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua O.P Bhagat who is also the District Panchayat Election Officer, today convened a meeting with designated Election Nodal Officers to review the preparedness for upcoming DDC and Panchayat By-Elections-2020.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Atul Gupta, ACD Kathua Narayan Dutt ( Dy.DEO), Nodal officers were also present.
The District Panchayat Election Officer called upon the Nodal Officers to device a robust plan for each stage of the elections. He also asked for aiding it with a contingency plan.
The DPEO impressed upon the Nodal Officers to record and report any violation of MCC so that appropriate action shall be taken as per ECI guidelines.
The meeting also discussed in detail the plan preparation for SVEEP activities, Transport, Security, Manpower, Training, Expenditure Monitoring, Media/ Communication, Control room, Postal Ballot, COVID-19 measures etc.
The DPEO laid thrust on time bound completion of the physical verification of polling stations in the district and availability of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) i,e provision of toilets, water, electricity and other related facilities.
Earlier on Wednesday, the DC Kathua held a meeting with leaders of political parties to discuss their role and responsibilities during elections.
