Shiksha Niketan celebrates Diwali, Children's Day | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 12: Shiksha Niketan Sr. Sec. Sec School, Jeevan Nagar Jammu celebrated the function of "Diwali & the Children's Day" in its premises today. The School was beautifully decorated with handmade diyas (earthern lamps), colourful candles and attractive buntings etc. The function was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm. Gagandeep Singh from Revenue Deptt was the chief guest while Rita Mengi, the Trustee of RMPS and Rakshan Mengi, M.D of Pushp Vatika were the guests of honour invited to the occasion. Then, there was a presentation of "Sufi Sangeet" by Monika, a teacher of Higher secondary wing. The chief guest Gagandeep Singh addressed the staff members and shared his views regarding the importance of the days. In the end, the Principal of the School Rameshwar Mengi spoke highly on the importance of "Diwali", the sacred festival of "lights" representing the victorious power of knowledge (light) over the ignorance (darkness). |
